1. Why is genre hybridity used in the advertising campaign? Genre hybridity is used in the advertising campaign as it helps to attract all audiences such as comedy for the younger generation as it things they will find funny and the action to attract the older audiences along with the use of characters such as benny to attract the older audience as this will bring back nostalgia and good memories from their childhood. Maximising the amount off people that would come and pay to watch the film.  How might the target audiences interpret the advertising campaign differently? Is this reflected by their social differences?  The audience could see the advertising campaign as quite sexist as there is only one female character in the main cast who is only there for a romantic reason. it could also be seen as not very inclusive as there is only one black character in the film that is virtivus.

The Lego Movie advertising campaign would attract young children aged between 5-10 of all ethnicities who play with Lego because of the bright colours, young childish humour and the use of imagination. Young children would identify the different characters and the use of different coloured Lego characters such as Vitruvius and Lenny Henry encourages different ethnicities and races. 2. What was happening in 2014? How do the products reflect the society in  2014 when it was produced? Lenny henry was the first black lego mini figure to be created showing a shift  in society moving towards diversity and acceptance. contrastingly in the  movie there are few black characters most of them being yellow showing  the difference and baiased based on skin tone  Wyldstyle does not uphold stereotypical  gender roles which reflects the rise  in feminism showing she is not a stereotypical housewife she is shown to be  strong and independent  Vitruvius  is the only black character in the film showing the lack of diversity  in the film itself
